Gratitude and positivity practice

Last week (20th-26th of June) i focused my energy to track down everything good and positive. Small phrases about things I’m grateful of or what made me feel successful on that particular day.

I realized that it’s way easier to think about the good stuff than it was trying to think what made me feel successful.

Things what made me the most grateful was being outdoors or meeting with friends and family. The mostly ‘succesful’ feelings came from my work or after i finished tasks i had been postponed too much.

Exercise I did for this practice:

  • List 3 things I liked about this particular day
  • List 3 things that made me feel successful
  • Write down in your journal – at least 3 things you are grateful for

P.s I’m really sorry updating at the Monday morning after I’ve said earlier that I’m going to post on Sunday. Have been super busy helping my family but at least I’ve updated this blog now.

Self growth – challenge ;

For upcoming week, I have planned a weekly challenges for myself, small goals to achieve and keep me motivated or otherwise inspired.

This upcoming challenge is 7-weeks and for each week I have one theme to focus on. It doesn’t mean I need to be ‘perfect’ with the tasks and to do them everyday. It is more than enough if I do it even once a week. My purpose is to be happier – not stressed or getting anxious – so having this flexible timeframe is definitely more suitable for me.

WEEK 20/6/22 – 26/6/22Selfcare, practice gratitude and positivity
WEEK 27/6/22 – 03/7/22Learn more about emotions, feelings and how to ‘let go’
WEEK 04/7/22 – 10/7/22Declutter and reorganize
WEEK 11/7/22 – 17/7/22Meditation, mindfulness and yoga
WEEK 18/7/22 – 24/7/22‘Go with the flow’, be more spontaneous
WEEK 25/7/22 – 31/7/22Social media break, limited time on electronic devices, go outside more
WEEK 01/8/22 – 07/8/22Have an adventure, do things you enjoy
Weekly challenge plans for the next 7 -weeks.

For now on (starting next week), I will try to update this blog on Sundays. I will be keeping a journal to track my weekly challenges, emotions and eventually update the results here afterwards.

Getting started ;

In the beginning of 2021, I was fed up feeling tired and unmotivated. Didn’t really have this ‘higher purpose’ and nothing really seemed to make sense. I had long break from the gym – which I really do enjoy – but was just really anxious to go there. All the negative news floating from every other social media page to newspapers to online magazines. It made me feel sick physically and mentally. I was completely exhausted. Zero motivation. Drowning my sorrows and anxiety to every random hobby I found interesting. Lacking motivation again after couple of weeks.

January 2022, one morning I was watching outside while drinking my morning coffee, and in that small energy fueled moment, I took my journal and started writing phrases down.

What are my goals? What do I really want from my life?

I didn’t really know the answers but i scrambled some notes, which firstly came to my mind.

  • To find inner peace and happiness
  • To be healthy and exercise
  • To be more social and meet friends
  • Be confident and do things you’d always wanted to do
January Started my Journal, used calendar to track down events and to-do’s
February Started to listen to Podcasts and reading articles about self-development
MarchTracking down my workout-activity, started listening to e-books
AprilTried to learn things to motivate myself when feeling not-so-motivated, being kind to myself when not achieving my own high standards
MaySolo trip to Poland, feeling myself the most free I’ve ever felt, seeing more friends and having trips in the nature
JuneStarted this blog,
this month’s goal: to be more aware of emotions and accepting them – be more empathetic towards my own needs.
Key-phrase: “you don’t need to be perfect all the time”
